01 — Click prices
What does a Google Ads click cost in Fort Myers and Cape Coral?
It depends on whether the job touches water, wind or heat. In the Fort Myers–Naples market in October 2026, the high end of the top-of-page bid ran from about $11 for "lawn care service" to $185 for "ac service near me" (Google Keyword Planner). Canal and storm trades cost two to three times the national price. Routine outdoor work costs about the same as anywhere else in the U.S., or less.
Same English search, Ft. Myers–Naples DMA vs the whole U.S. (Google Keyword Planner, October 21, 2026):

The top bid for "dock builder" in the Fort Myers–Naples market was $40.43 in October 2026, more than three times the U.S. ceiling of $12.58. "Hurricane shutters" topped out at $31.98, almost three times the national $10.70. "Plumber near me" was close to the national price here ($86.17 vs $82.33), far below Jacksonville's $145.00 (Keyword Planner, October 19 and 21, 2026).
Top-of-page bid is Google's estimate of what advertisers bid to appear above the organic results. The low end approximates the 20th percentile of recent top-of-page bids and the high end the 80th (Google Ads Help). DMA (designated market area) is the media market Google uses for regional estimates; Google's "Ft. Myers-Naples FL" target covers Lee and Collier and reaches into Hendry, Glades and DeSoto. These are estimates, not quotes.
02 — The water trades
Why do canal and storm trades cost so much here?
Because the searches are few and the jobs are big. Cape Coral alone has about 409 miles of canals, 222 of them saltwater, according to the city's stormwater maintenance manager. "Seawall repair" gets only about 40 searches a month across the whole market, so a handful of marine contractors bid hard for each one.
For a seawall, dock or boat lift company, the costly mistake is the wrong click: with 40 searches a month, a week of clicks from tourists or out-of-area owners can eat the budget. So a waterfront account starts narrow: exact and phrase keywords only, location set to "Presence" in the canal ZIP codes you actually serve, and a call-only or form step that asks for the address before the quote.
The ad also has to prove you can pull the permit. Cape Coral's residential seawall guideline says that "CGC, CRC, CBC, Marine, and Owner Builder may apply," and saltwater work needs DEP approval or a Corps SAJ-91 permit (City of Cape Coral, guideline last revised June 22, 2020). Put the license type and number in the ad and on the landing page; Florida requires the number in every advertisement anyway.
Storm hardening is the second high-priced group. "Hurricane shutters" (480 searches a month) and "impact windows" (260) sell to owners who remember Ian, which made landfall on Cayo Costa on September 28, 2022, as a category 4 with 150 mph winds. It pushed 6 to 9 feet of water over ground level in Cape Coral and Pine Island, and 10 to 15 feet on Fort Myers Beach (National Hurricane Center, Tropical Cyclone Report).
03 — Lee vs Collier
Should a Fort Myers business target Naples too?
Only for the trades where Collier County pays off. In October 2026, Collier's top bid for "roofers near me" was $135.93 against $88.43 in Lee County, while seawall, dock and boat lift searches had almost no volume in Collier (Google Keyword Planner). Split Lee and Collier into separate campaigns, or at least separate bids, before you spend.
| Search | Lee County (Cape Coral, Fort Myers) | Collier County (Naples) |
|---|---|---|
| seawall repair | 30/mo · $18.00 – $115.20 | 10/mo · no estimate |
| dock builder | 140/mo · $10.00 – $40.43 | 10/mo · no estimate |
| roofers near me | 480/mo · $28.93 – $88.43 | 140/mo · $50.00 – $135.93 |
| hurricane shutters | 260/mo · $7.12 – $29.65 | 110/mo · $8.00 – $50.93 |
| ac repair near me | 1,000/mo · $41.67 – $185.00 | 260/mo · $60.00 – $132.00 |
| pest control near me | 720/mo · $15.50 – $44.00 | 320/mo · $18.00 – $58.44 |
Source: Google Keyword Planner, county targets, top-of-page bid range, October 21, 2026. Collier volumes are small, so treat its figures as a direction. Lee holds the canal searches and pays more for AC; Collier pays more for roofing, shutters and pest control. A Fort Myers roofer who adds Naples on one shared budget will spend most of it where clicks cost the most.
04 — Season
When does demand change in Fort Myers and Cape Coral?
From September to March, the region's air traffic nearly triples. Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) handled 550,259 passengers in September 2025 and 1,521,149 in March 2026, the busiest month in its 43-year history (Lee County Port Authority via Airport Improvement and WGCU). Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, so the storm months and the slow months overlap.
| Stage | When | What changes in the account |
|---|---|---|
| Season ramp-up | Oct – Nov | Pool, cleaning and lawn campaigns turned up as seasonal owners return. |
| Peak season | Jan – Apr | Budgets follow booked jobs by county; ad schedule matched to staffed hours, because a missed call in March costs the most. |
| Off-season | May – Sep | AC repair stays high; seasonal services scaled down; budget moved to storm-hardening offers before the peak of hurricane season. |
| Storm watch and recovery | 48 hours before, then weeks 1 – 8 | Shutter and generator ads paused once installs can't happen in time; then water damage, mold, roof and seawall repair follow booked jobs, with roofing copy kept inside §489.147. |
March traffic at RSW was 2.76 times September's (our calculation from the airport's figures). We use the airport as the season gauge because we found no current count of seasonal residents in Lee County. A flat monthly budget is too small in March and wasted in September. 05 — Watch
Google Ads for plumbers in Cape Coral: the video
In this Eloari video, made for Cape Coral and Fort Myers plumbing owners, we look at the city's North 1 Utilities Extension Project. Owners get 180 days to connect after the city's notice, and the city estimates the plumber's connection at $2,000 to $3,000. Yet almost nobody searches for it. The video shows how to run that work as its own campaign.
Google Ads for Plumbers in Cape Coral: The Sewer Hookup Wave. Eloari, October 2026 (12 min). The video's $225.55 top bid for "emergency plumber near me" is for Cape Coral, Fort Myers and North Fort Myers only (October 15, 2026); across the whole DMA the figure is $124.46 (October 21). If you pay per lead instead of per click, see Local Services Ads management.
06 — Ad rules
Which Florida rules change what a Fort Myers ad can say?
Florida writes advertising rules into law, and after Ian the roofing rule matters most here. Contractors must show their license number in every ad (§489.119). Roofers cannot run ads that push a homeowner toward a roof insurance claim without three required warnings, or offer anything of value for a roof inspection (§489.147).
| Rule | What it says | What it means for your ads |
|---|---|---|
| Fla. Stat. §489.119(5)(b) | The contractor's registration or certification number must appear "in each offer of services, business proposal, bid, contract, or advertisement, regardless of medium." | Roofing, AC, plumbing, pool and marine contractors: license number in the ad and on the landing page. |
| Fla. Stat. §489.147(1)(a) | An ad that "encourages, instructs, or induces a consumer to contact a contractor or public adjuster for the purpose of making an insurance claim for roof damage" must carry three warnings in at least 12-point type: the deductible, deductible-waiver fraud and false claims. | After a storm, sell the inspection and the repair. If an ad mentions the claim, the warnings go on the page. |
| Fla. Stat. §489.147(2)(b) | A contractor may not offer "a rebate, gift, gift card, cash, coupon, waiver of any insurance deductible" in exchange for a roof inspection or a claim. | No "free gift card with your roof inspection" offers in Google, Meta or door-hanger copy. |
| Cape Coral seawall guideline | "CGC, CRC, CBC, Marine, and Owner Builder may apply"; DEP approval or SAJ-91 for saltwater. | Say which state license you hold and that you pull the city and DEP permits. |

08 — Pricing
How much does a PPC agency cost in Fort Myers?
U.S. agencies typically charge $1,000 to $5,000 a month for small and mid-sized accounts, or 10% to 20% of ad spend (most often 15%), plus a setup fee of $2,500 to $10,000. Eloari charges a flat fee from $900 a month, with no setup fee, no percentage and no markup on media.
| Tier | Monthly fee | Suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $900/mo | Ad spend under $5,000/mo |
| Growth | $1,500/mo | Ad spend $5,000–$20,000/mo |
| Full | $2,500/mo | Ad spend $20,000+/mo |
For paid search to produce reliable data, plan on roughly $2,000 to $3,000 a month in ad spend, which you pay directly to Google and Meta. A flat fee matters more in a seasonal market. When you raise the budget for March, a percentage-of-spend agency raises its fee too; a flat fee stays the same. Before you sign with anyone, read the Florida agency buyer's guide or our Google Ads audit checklist.

10 — Questions
Fort Myers and Cape Coral questions
How much does Google Ads cost in Fort Myers?
It depends on the trade. In October 2026 the top-of-page bid in the Fort Myers–Naples market ran $47.64 to $148.53 for "ac repair," $27.75 to $86.17 for "plumber near me" and $3.54 to $11.10 for "lawn care service" (Google Keyword Planner). For paid search to produce reliable data, plan on roughly $2,000 to $3,000 a month in ad spend.
Is Fort Myers more expensive for Google Ads than the rest of the U.S.?
For water, storm and electrical work, yes. In October 2026 the top bid for "dock builder" was 221% above the U.S. figure, "hurricane shutters" 199% and "seawall repair" 114% above it, while "pest control near me" and "lawn care service" sat below the national price (Google Keyword Planner). Budget by trade, not by city.
Should a Cape Coral business advertise in Naples too?
Only if you serve Collier County and the numbers work for your trade. In October 2026 Collier's top bid for "roofers near me" was $135.93 against $88.43 in Lee County, while seawall and dock searches had almost no volume in Collier (Google Keyword Planner). Run Lee and Collier as separate campaigns so one county cannot spend the other's budget.
How much does a PPC agency charge in Fort Myers?
U.S. agencies typically charge $1,000 to $5,000 a month, or 10% to 20% of ad spend, plus a $2,500 to $10,000 setup fee. Eloari charges a flat fee from $900 a month, with no setup fee, no percentage of spend and month-to-month terms.
When should a Fort Myers business spend the most on ads?
Usually from January to April, when the region is busiest: Southwest Florida International Airport handled 1,521,149 passengers in March 2026, against 550,259 in September 2025. AC repair stays busy in summer, and storm-related work follows the hurricane season from June 1 to November 30. Move budget by month instead of spending the same amount all year.
What does a Florida roofer have to avoid in ads after a hurricane?
Florida Statute 489.147 bars ads that induce a homeowner to file a roof insurance claim unless they carry three warnings in at least 12-point type, and it bans offering gifts, cash or a deductible waiver in exchange for a roof inspection. Every contractor ad must also show the license number (§489.119). Confirm final wording with your own adviser.
