01 — Click prices

What does a Google Ads click cost in Jacksonville?

It depends on how urgent the job is. In the Jacksonville DMA in October 2026, the high end of the top-of-page bid ran from about $8 for "mechanic near me" to $158 for "garage door repair" (Google Keyword Planner). Emergency trades cost far more here than nationally. Scheduled work like pest control, fencing and roof repair costs about the same as anywhere else in the U.S.

Same English search, Jacksonville DMA vs the whole U.S. (Google Keyword Planner, October 19, 2026):

The top bid for "electrician near me" in the Jacksonville DMA was $117.04 in October 2026, more than double the U.S. ceiling of $55.00. "Plumber near me" topped out at $145.00, against $82.33 nationally, $121.00 in Tampa and $57.95 in Miami (Keyword Planner, October 14, 17 and 19, 2026). "Roof repair near me" came in below the national ceiling: $63.32 against $69.26.

Top-of-page bid is Google's estimate of what advertisers bid to appear above the organic results. The low end approximates the 20th percentile of recent top-of-page bids and the high end the 80th (Google Ads Help). DMA (designated market area) is the media market Google uses for regional estimates. These are estimates, not quotes.

02 — What it means

Why do Jacksonville's emergency trades need their own budget?

Because someone with an emergency calls the first company that answers, and Jacksonville advertisers bid hard for that call. A metro-wide budget that treats a burst pipe like a fence quote will run out by mid-morning on the jobs that pay most.

So a Jacksonville account starts by splitting emergency work from scheduled work. Emergency plumbing, electrical, AC and garage door campaigns get their own budgets. They run only during hours when someone can actually pick up, because at a $145 top bid an unanswered call is the most expensive mistake in the account. At that price, $3,000 a month buys only about 20 clicks at the top of the range. Scheduled work like pest control and fencing costs close to the U.S. price, so there the lever is the landing page, not the bid.

Duval County's military and defense sector accounts for $9.1 billion of gross regional product, about 17% of the local economy, and 68,060 jobs (Florida Military & Defense Economic Impact Summary, January 2024, via the City of Jacksonville). Our reading: newly arrived military households reward movers and home-service companies whose ads say plainly which areas they serve.

03 — Counties and the state line

Should a Jacksonville business target the whole metro?

Usually not. The Jacksonville DMA covers 15 counties, nine in Florida and six in Georgia (Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, Pierce and Ware), per USTVDB's 2024–2025 market data. Click prices also change sharply from county to county. Draw targeting by county or ZIP code around the area your trucks actually cover.

Source: Google Keyword Planner, county targets, top-of-page bid range, October 19, 2026. The Georgia figures rest on small volumes, so treat them as a direction. Even so, the top bid for "ac repair" was $169.88 in St. Johns County and $40.50 in Glynn and Camden. St. Johns is also where the households are being added: 346,328 residents in July 2025, up 26.7% since April 2020 (U.S. Census QuickFacts).

The state line changes more than price. In Georgia, a person without a license from the state's Division of Master Plumbers and Journeyman Plumbers "shall be prohibited from advertising in any manner" as a master or journeyman plumber (O.C.G.A. §43-14-8(b)(3), as amended by HB 342, 2022). A Florida plumber whose ads reach Brunswick or St. Marys is advertising where a Florida license does not count. Google's default location option, "Presence or interest," also reaches people outside your area who show interest in it (Google Ads Help); "Presence" plus a county list is usually safer.

05 — Ad rules

Which Florida and Georgia rules change what a Jacksonville ad can say?

Florida writes advertising requirements into law. Contractors must show their license number in every ad (§489.119), roofers cannot advertise to induce an insurance claim (§489.147), movers must print their state registration number (§507.03), and pest control ads must run under the name registered with FDACS (rule 5E-14.142). On the Georgia side of the market, plumbing ads require a Georgia license.

RuleWhat it saysWhat it means for your ads
Fla. Stat. §489.119(5)(b)The contractor's registration or certification number must appear "in each offer of services, business proposal, bid, contract, or advertisement, regardless of medium."Plumbing, AC, roofing and pool contractors: license number in the ad (asset, description or image) and on the landing page.
Fla. Stat. §489.147No ad that "encourages, instructs, or induces a consumer to contact a contractor or public adjuster for the purpose of making an insurance claim for roof damage"; fines up to $10,000 per violation. After a storm, sell the inspection and the repair, not the claim.
Fla. Stat. §507.03(6)"Each advertisement of a mover must include the phrase 'Fla. Mover Reg. No.' or 'Fla. IM No.'"; civil penalty up to $5,000.Registration number in every moving ad and on the landing page.
Fla. Admin. Code R. 5E-14.142(6)(a)Pest control advertising "shall in all cases be factual" and run only under the licensee's name or trade name registered with FDACS.No keyword-stuffed business names in ads or on the Google profile.
O.C.G.A. §43-14-8(b)(3), GeorgiaWithout a Georgia plumbing license, a person may not advertise "in any manner" as a master or journeyman plumber.Exclude the Georgia counties unless you hold the Georgia license.

06 — Calendar

When does demand change in Jacksonville?

Twice a year, for different reasons. Formosan termites, which reached Jacksonville in 2005 (WJCT), swarm from early April to late June, peaking in May (UF/IFAS). The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 (NOAA). In Jacksonville the costly storm damage has come from flooding along the St. Johns River.

StageWhenWhat changes in the account
Before swarm seasonJan – MarTermite inspection campaign and landing page ready, review requests sent, so the profile looks current when April calls start.
Swarm seasonApr – JunTermite and pest budgets raised; inspection searches split from general "pest control near me."
Storm watch48–72 hoursEmergency and generator ads pushed if you sell them; routine work scaled down; schedule matched to staffed hours.
Flood recoveryWeeks 1 – 8Water damage, tree removal and roof repair budgets follow booked jobs by county; roofing copy stays inside §489.147.

In September 2017, during Irma, the National Hurricane Center found that the St. Johns River "set record flood stages at many locations in Duval County, causing major flooding in the Jacksonville metropolitan area, where hundreds of people were rescued." Floodwater "reached up to 5 ft deep in some locations," one of the worst flooding events in the city's 225-plus-year history (NHC Tropical Cyclone Report, Hurricane Irma). The Tampa Bay version of this plan is on our PPC agency in Tampa page.

08 — Pricing

How much does a PPC agency cost in Jacksonville?

U.S. agencies typically charge $1,000 to $5,000 a month for small and mid-sized accounts, or 10% to 20% of ad spend (most often 15%), plus a setup fee of $2,500 to $10,000. Eloari charges a flat fee from $900 a month, with no setup fee, no percentage and no markup on media.

TierMonthly feeSuited to
Starter$900/moAd spend under $5,000/mo
Growth$1,500/moAd spend $5,000–$20,000/mo
Full$2,500/moAd spend $20,000+/mo

For paid search to produce reliable data, plan on roughly $2,000 to $3,000 a month in ad spend, which you pay directly to Google and Meta. In a Jacksonville emergency trade, that is a small number of top clicks, so start with one service, one or two counties and working call tracking. Before you sign with anyone, read the Florida agency buyer's guide or our Google Ads audit checklist.

09 — Coverage

Which areas around Jacksonville does Eloari serve?

Eloari serves Northeast Florida businesses remotely from Davenport, Florida. 10 — Questions

Jacksonville questions

How much does Google Ads cost in Jacksonville?

It depends on the trade. In October 2026 the top-of-page bid in the Jacksonville DMA ran $24.81 to $145.00 for "plumber near me," $15.35 to $117.04 for "electrician near me" and $11.41 to $52.38 for "pest control near me" (Google Keyword Planner). For paid search to produce reliable data, plan on roughly $2,000 to $3,000 a month in ad spend.

Is Jacksonville more expensive for Google Ads than the rest of the U.S.?

For emergency trades, yes. In October 2026 the top bid for "electrician near me" was 113% above the U.S. figure, "garage door repair" 85% and "plumber near me" 76% above it, while pest control, fence and roof repair searches sat at or below the national price (Google Keyword Planner). Budget by trade and by county, not by city.

How much does a PPC agency charge in Jacksonville?

U.S. agencies typically charge $1,000 to $5,000 a month, or 10% to 20% of ad spend, plus a $2,500 to $10,000 setup fee. Eloari charges a flat fee from $900 a month, with no setup fee, no percentage of spend and month-to-month terms.

Should my ads cover the Georgia side of the Jacksonville market?

Only if you are licensed and willing to work there. Six Georgia counties sit in the Jacksonville DMA, and Georgia bars anyone without a Georgia plumbing license from advertising as a plumber "in any manner" (O.C.G.A. §43-14-8(b)(3)). Target Florida counties by name and set location to "Presence" unless you serve Georgia.

What does a Florida contractor have to put in a Google ad?

Florida Statute 489.119(5)(b) requires the contractor's registration or certification number in every advertisement, regardless of medium. Movers must include "Fla. Mover Reg. No." or "Fla. IM No." under §507.03(6), and pest control ads must run under the name registered with FDACS. Confirm final wording with your own adviser.

How long until Google Ads works for a Jacksonville business?

Campaigns usually launch around day 14, after tracking is installed and verified. The first real optimization decisions come between day 21 and day 30, and meaningful cost-per-lead improvement usually shows in month two or three.
