01 — Click prices

What does a Google Ads click cost in Melbourne and Palm Bay?

It depends on the trade, and Brevard does not copy Orlando or Daytona. In October 2026 the high end of the top-of-page bid in Brevard County ran from about $11 for "lawn care near me" to $110 for "water heater repair near me" (Google Keyword Planner). Electricians, plumbers and impact-window installers pay more here than across the Orlando market; roofers, AC companies and pest control pay less.

Same English search, four areas (Google Keyword Planner; Brevard and Orlando DMA October 29, 2026, Volusia + Flagler and U.S. October 27, 2026):

"Electrician near me" topped out 55% above the U.S. bid and 17% above the Orlando market. "Roof repair near me" was only 12% above the U.S. bid, 36% below the Orlando market and 44% below Volusia and Flagler (our calculation on the top of each range).

Top-of-page bid is Google's estimate of what advertisers bid to appear above the organic results. The low end approximates the 20th percentile of recent top-of-page bids and the high end the 80th (Google Ads Help). DMA (designated market area) is the media market Google uses for regional estimates. Brevard has no DMA of its own: it is the "Melbourne" in "Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne."

02 — Wire and water

Why do electricians and plumbers pay more in Brevard?

Because the urgent wire and water calls are where Brevard's advertisers compete. In October 2026 "water heater repair near me" topped out at $110.00 in Brevard against $100.00 in the Orlando market, and "plumbing services near me" also reached $110.00 (Google Keyword Planner). In our electrician video, "electrician melbourne fl" and "electrician palm bay" each reached about $90.00 a click (October 2026).

After Hurricane Milton, "over a third of FPL customers in Brevard were without power" on the morning of October 10, 2024, and "about 116,000 households along the Space Coast reported that power was out" (WFIT, Melbourne public radio). A home standby generator costs $8,000 to $16,000 installed (Generac), yet "generac home generator" topped out at $16.61 a click in Brevard, about a fifth of the generic electrician click (Keyword Planner, October 2026).

Impact windows are the other outlier. Brevard made up 28% of the Orlando market's "impact windows" searches in October 2026, against 15% to 16% of its plumber, electrician and AC searches, and its top bid of $67.75 was 33% above the U.S. figure. Our reading: an electrician or plumber in Melbourne should pay the expensive "near me" click only for jobs it can price, and push generator, panel and water-heater work into separate campaigns with their own budgets.

03 — The lagoon law

How does the Indian River Lagoon septic law change advertising in Brevard?

It creates a deadline-driven market for septic and sewer work. Under Florida's 2023 law (HB 1379), every property with a septic system in the Indian River Lagoon Protection Program area, which covers parts of Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie and Volusia counties, must connect to central sewer where it is available, or upgrade to a system that removes at least 65% of the nitrogen, by July 1, 2030 (Florida DEP).

The search prices haven't caught up yet. In October 2026 "septic tank pumping" got about 260 searches a month in Brevard with a top bid of $15.74, against $26.09 across the Orlando market, and "septic inspection" topped out at $20.17 against $58.93 (Google Keyword Planner).

DateSourceWhat happened

Jan 1, 2024Florida DEPNew septic systems in the lagoon area must reduce nitrogen when sewer is not available.
Dec 2025Central Florida Public MediaBrevard sets a $6,000 minimum per eligible septic upgrade grant, with a $20,000 maximum, as a one-year trial. The average upgrade now costs more than $22,000.
Mar 2026WKMGPalm Bay approves a four-year phased sewer hookup plan; Cocoa, Merritt Island, Rockledge and Titusville also convert.
Nov 3, 2026Central Florida Public MediaBrevard votes on renewing the lagoon tax for 10 more years, about $800 million.
Jul 1, 2030Florida DEPExisting septic systems in the lagoon area must be on sewer or upgraded.

The jobs are large. In Port St. John, a county letter gave homeowners one year to connect, and one resident estimated $60,000 to $100,000 for a long connection (WKMG, March 2026). ENR system (enhanced nutrient-reducing) means a septic system built to remove nitrogen before the water reaches the ground.

Our reading: plumbers and septic contractors should run a sewer-hookup campaign aimed at the neighborhoods on the county's conversion list, and a separate upgrade campaign that explains the county grant without promising approval.

04 — A 72-mile county

Should a Palm Bay business target all of Brevard County?

Usually not. Brevard runs about 72 miles from north to south, and its two largest cities sit at the southern end: Palm Bay had about 148,100 residents and Melbourne about 87,100 in 2025, against about 49,800 in Titusville, the county seat (U.S. Census Bureau estimates via citypopulation.de). A Palm Bay crew that targets the whole county pays for Titusville clicks it may never serve.

CityPopulation (July 1, 2025)Google Ads location
Palm Bay148,092City target, south Brevard
Melbourne87,097City target, south Brevard
Titusville49,800City target, north Brevard
Rockledge31,343City or ZIP target, central Brevard
West Melbourne31,285City target, south Brevard
Cocoa19,777City target, central Brevard

The whole county had about 658,447 residents in 2024, with a median age of 46.3 against 39.2 nationally (Census Bureau ACS 2024 via Census Reporter). The economy runs on the launch range. The Space Coast set a record of 109 launches in 2025, up from 93 in 2024, and the 45th Space Launch Delta commander projected 100 to 120 for 2026 (Spectrum News 13, December 2025). Our reading: hospitality near Cape Canaveral and Titusville should budget around the launch schedule; home services in Palm Bay and Melbourne, around storms.

05 — Watch

Electrician marketing in Melbourne, FL: the video

In this Eloari video for electrical contractors, we trace three Brevard jobs (a service call, a whole-house generator and a car charger) back to the search that brings each one. The generic click tops out near $85 and the generator click near $17, while the installed generator is worth $8,000 to $16,000 (Keyword Planner and Generac, October 2026).

06 — Ad rules

Which Florida rules change what a Melbourne ad can say?

Three Florida statutes matter most for Brevard's trades. Plumbing, roofing, AC and pool contractors must show their license number in every ad (§489.119), electrical contractors too (§489.521), and roofers face strict limits on insurance-claim ads (§489.147).

RuleWhat it saysWhat it means for your ads
Fla. Stat. §489.119(5)(b)The contractor's registration or certification number must appear "in each offer of services, business proposal, bid, contract, or advertisement, regardless of medium."Plumbers doing sewer hookups, roofers, AC and pool contractors: license number in the ad and on the landing page.
Fla. Stat. §489.521(7)(b)–(c)An electrical contractor's number must be stated in each advertisement, "regardless of medium." The board can fine at least $100 when it is missing.Electricians and generator installers: the number goes in the ad text, not just the website footer.
Fla. Stat. §489.147An ad that pushes a homeowner toward a roof insurance claim needs three warnings in at least 12-point type. No gift, cash or deductible waiver may be offered for a roof inspection or claim. After a storm, sell the inspection and the repair, not the claim.

08 — Pricing

How much does a PPC agency cost in Melbourne, FL?

U.S. agencies typically charge $1,000 to $5,000 a month for small and mid-sized accounts, or 10% to 20% of ad spend (most often 15%), plus a setup fee of $2,500 to $10,000. Eloari charges a flat fee from $900 a month, with no setup fee, no percentage and no markup on media.

TierMonthly feeSuited to
Starter$900/moAd spend under $5,000/mo
Growth$1,500/moAd spend $5,000–$20,000/mo
Full$2,500/moAd spend $20,000+/mo

Plan on roughly $2,000 to $3,000 a month in ad spend for paid search, paid directly to Google and Meta (Eloari). At Brevard's $100 plumber click, a percentage-of-spend agency earns more every time the bid rises; a flat fee stays the same. Before you sign, read the Florida agency buyer's guide or our Google Ads audit checklist.

10 — Questions

Melbourne and Palm Bay questions

How much does Google Ads cost in Melbourne, FL?

It depends on the trade. In October 2026 the top-of-page bid in Brevard County ran $11.07 to $85.32 for "electrician near me," $40.99 to $100.00 for "plumber near me" and $3.84 to $10.79 for "lawn care near me" (Google Keyword Planner). Those are estimates of what advertisers bid, not what you will pay per click.

Is Melbourne cheaper than Orlando for Google Ads?

For some trades it is. In October 2026 "roof repair near me" topped out at $77.75 in Brevard against $121.65 across the Orlando market, and "ac repair near me" at $100.00 against $130.00. "Electrician near me" and "impact windows" cost more in Brevard ($85.32 vs $73.05, and $67.75 vs $57.88), according to Google Keyword Planner.

Should I target the Orlando DMA if my business is in Palm Bay or Melbourne?

Usually not. Brevard is only part of Google's Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne market: about 16% of its "plumber near me" searches in October 2026 (Keyword Planner). Target Brevard by city or ZIP code, and split north and south Brevard when your crews don't cover the whole 72-mile county.

What is the Indian River Lagoon septic deadline?

Under Florida's 2023 law (HB 1379), septic properties in the Indian River Lagoon Protection Program area must connect to central sewer where available, or upgrade to a system that removes at least 65% of nitrogen, by July 1, 2030 (Florida DEP). The area covers parts of Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie and Volusia counties.

Can septic and plumbing companies mention Brevard's septic grants in ads?

Yes, if the ad is accurate. Brevard's Save Our Indian River Lagoon program offers septic upgrade grants of at least $6,000 and up to $20,000 per eligible applicant (Central Florida Public Media, December 2025), but the county decides each award. Say the grant exists and who runs it; don't promise approval or an amount.

How much does a PPC agency charge in Melbourne, FL?

U.S. agencies typically charge $1,000 to $5,000 a month, or 10% to 20% of ad spend, plus a $2,500 to $10,000 setup fee. Eloari charges a flat fee from $900 a month, with no setup fee, no percentage of spend and month-to-month terms.

Do electrician ads in Florida need a license number?

Yes. Florida Statute 489.521(7)(b) requires an electrical contractor's certification or registration number in each advertisement, regardless of medium, and the board can fine at least $100 when it is missing. Plumbing, roofing and AC contractors have the same duty under §489.119.
